The Legal Stuff

Anyone can elope in Scotland, even if you aren’t from the UK, guidance is available from the Scottish Government here.

Another fantastic reason for an elopement in Scotland is that you can hold your ceremony pretty much anywhere. Unlike the rest of the UK, in Scotland your celebrant, minister or registrar actually carries the license, not the location. So yeah, that the tropical looking, white sand beach you love, or that iconic mountain you’ve climbed or even the secret waterfall you found can become a big part of your big day.
